One of our favorite clients, a reputable community bank in the area is looking for an experienced commercial lender to join their team. They need a motivated individual who understands the banking industry and has commercial lending experience. In this role, you will have the responsibility of managing & growing a commercial loan portfolio and promoting new business development.

Primary Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
  • Follows all lending policies, procedures, and applicable laws to ensure the efficient and effective operation of the commercial loan function
  • Initiates and cultivates new loan relationships for the bank through active business development efforts including calls, visits and community involvement. Refers prospects to other appropriate bank resources when and where appropriat
  • Evaluates and structures credit terms in accordance with lending policies
  • Analyzes the credit history of applicants and determines their loan repayment capabilities
  • Negotiates credit terms, such as costs, loan repayment methods and collateral specifications
  • May provide assistance and training for new Credit Analysis
  • Prepares, presents, and recommends loan requests to the appropriate loan committees for approval
  • Maintains periodic contact with customers to determine any banking needs, financial trends, changes in the organization or industry, and general goodwill
  • Establishes and/or maintains primary contact relationships with targeted customers to maximize the lifetime value of these key relationships
  • Builds loyalty and drives profitable revenue growth by applying key customer relationship management principles including:
  • Working to ensure that a coordinated and consistent message reaches targeted customers across all delivery/servicing channels
  • New customer acquisition activities, ensuring a more effective identification and cultivation of potentially high-value relationships
  • Developing and executing targeted client retention and expansion activities (develop and secure new business from existing portfolio base)
  • Demonstrating strong solution-oriented sales and communications skills and effectively establishing rapport and credibility with customers
Qualified professionals should have the following:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance or related required. MBA preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Commercial Lender
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Creative problem solver and sales skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to deal effectively with customers, attorneys, realtors and other financial institutions as well as all levels of Bank personnel
  • Excellent organizational, follow-up and time management skills
